Learning from your mistakes – the workplace experience

sad face

We all make mistakes; point taken.. but do we learn from them such that we don’t repeat them again.
The Key to learning from your mistakes is to document your failures (Team Geek; Brian W. Fitzpatrick and Ben Collins-Sussman ). Take great care that these notes (document) are not just useless list of apologies or excuses, but be sure to ensure they contain lesson’s learnt from them.

They should always contain an explanation of what was learnt and what is going to change as a result of the learning experience.

Top most is to ensure that these documents are easily accessible when you need them and you really follow through on the proposed change.
By doing this, you make it easier for other people to know what happened, avoid repeating the same mistake, and learn from your experience.
